David was special guest artist for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Teen Challenge held in New York City, June 25-27. He has been a valuable spokesperson for this powerful ministry founded by David Wilkerson, author of "The Cross & the Switchblade." Over the last 50 years Teen Challenge has expanded from the first Center on 416 Clinton Avenue in Brooklyn, NY to over 200 Centers in the U.S. and over 82 countries. David Meece was accompanied by the New England Band and choir of nearly 200 students and alumni of Teen Challenge in the famous Times Square Church.

The Christian Music Hall of Fame
The 2008 inductees were announced this week, honoring artists, songwriters and musicians who have dedicated their lives to sharing the gospel through their musical gifts and talents.
David's name along with seven others , Michael W. Smith, Stryper, Dottie Rambo, Ed Enoch, John Schlitt, Lou Wills Hildreth & the Staples Singers have been chosen to join 124 present inductees honored in 2007.
The Christian Music Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Frisco, TX have plans " to provide a place where people can go to see a history of Christian music and share in the lives of those who have celebrated Jesus through their music."

The concert was held on Tuesday, July 10 at Christ Presbyterian Church, Nashville, TN"Timeless: The Inspirational Concert Experience" featured Russ Taff, Bonnie Keen, Larnelle Harris, Crystal Lewsi, David Meece, Bob Carlisle, Michael O'Brian, Allan Asbury, Anthem Avenue, Chonda Pierce, The Classic Imperials, Brian Duncan and 80 voices of The Nashville Choir. Classic songs of the church included "People Need the Lord, " "Rise Again, " " He's Alive, " " We Will Stand, " " El Shaddai, " "Holy Ground, " " Praise the Lord" and many others. Humble High School celebrated their 75th Anniversary calling for a city-wide gala event for all alumni highlighting a few of their graduates who had gone on to make a significant contribution to society. David also enjoyed the opportunity to visit again with dear friends from childhood days.
